Meet Our Couples - The Wrights
With our second Wedding season in full swing, we took a little time out from planning your picture-perfect ceremonies to catch up with a few of our favourite couples and share some memories from their special day. This week, join us as we take a look back at The Wrights special day at Abbots…
Firstly, we just wanted to say congratulations once again and we hope you had an amazing honeymoon. Thank you so much for taking the time to sit down and have a little catch up with us.
No problem at all, we'll always be so grateful we chose Abbots Court and it will hold a special place forever. We’re also expecting with our due date close to our anniversary - baby photos imminent!
Congratulations on the new arrival and thank you for the compliments. May we start with asking what first made you choose Abbots Court for your special day?
We wanted to find a space that felt private, visually unusual and that meant we could host friends and family both inside and out. We actually saw Abbots Court when the ceremony barn, dining space and gardens were still CGI images so we put the trust into the vision and the attitudes of the staff - both of which were spot on with our own. A venue that put friends, family and fun first, we felt everything we wanted in a venue was covered and we could picture our guests having the best time for a whole weekend at Abbots Court.
Thank’s so much guys, we must say the couples who placed their trust in us whilst visiting during our rebuild and renovations was truly heart warming. Looking back on your special day, we’d love to know what were your highlights of your wedding weekend?
The best photo from the day has to be the wedding party in the midst of a champagne spray in the stunning walled garden - but seeing our friends sat in the barn for a rustically styled and beautiful service is also something that meant a lot to us.
However we won't ever forget being stood on the stage overlooking the dance-floor singing our hearts out in time with our guests, who were having the best time. It optimised the day, full of laughter and fun - lots of smiles (guests and staff alike) and everything being perfect ... Just as Cat had promised.
And last but by no means least; what advice would you give to other wedding couples considering Abbots Court as their venue?
Coming from the bride - having time to set up the day before - seeing the vision come to life, and knowing I was in the safe hands of Kat who was in complete control of every step of the day, it meant I had nothing to worry about at any moment - just to be fully present in our wedding - and that in itself is worth it's weight in gold.
From the Groom, we also hired Almer Manor - playing tennis and being in the hot tub before the wedding itself was the perfect chilled morning to kick off the festivities.
Not just that - take the time to plan using the Abbots Court space for longer than just the day itself, we spent a whole weekend with our nearest and dearest, opposed to just the hours of the wedding, which kept the magic going.
