Meet Our Couples - Aimée & Mike
With our second Wedding season in full swing, we took a little time out from planning your picture-perfect ceremonies to catch up with a few of our favourite couples and share some memories from their special day. This week, join us as we take a look back to a very special day indeed as we started our love story with Aimée & Mike’s special day at Abbots…
May we start with asking what first made you choose Abbots Court for your special day?
Having looked at a number of venues in and around Dorset, we struggled to find one which captured our vision for our wedding, until we came to Abbots court! We loved the entire aesthetic of the house and were so thrilled to find somewhere that we could host our family and wedding party for the weekend of our wedding. Even though the pavilion had not even been built at the time of our first visit, our initial conversations with Christina gave us complete faith that she understood the vision we were going for; we walked away and just knew that we could trust her to take care of our entire day and that she would be able to bring it to life. Most other venues that we had looked at relied on us to outsource a lot of the suppliers for the day and coordinate this on the day ourselves, however at Abbots Court we were given a list of trusted suppliers - which significantly reduced our planning workload immediately - and we’re reassured that our day would be run smoothly for us (which was in fact the case!).
Thank’s so much guys, we must say the couples who placed their trust in us whilst visiting during our rebuild and renovations was truly heart warming. Looking back on your special day, we’d love to know what were your highlights of your wedding weekend?
It’s so hard to choose just one moment from the day, but some of our most memorable moments included:
- Walking into the pavilion for the first time for the wedding breakfast, despite having not seen the “final set up” until this moment. We were blown away by the attention to detail and the hard work that had clearly gone in from all the staff to bring the vision of our day to life.
- Our wedding speeches, set in the beautiful backdrop of the pavilion. It all felt so relaxed and intimate - exactly what we had wished for.
- Our first dance (and many subsequent dances throughout the evening!) on the “dance floor”. It was the perfect size to ensure that it felt as though everyone could just get on, dance and have the best time. Also, the stage had enough space for our 5 piece band to be able to provide us with some absolutely amazing songs and atmosphere for the evening (including an impromptu “rap performance” from my husband and his best man which was fully supported and encouraged by the venue staff!)
- Waking up the next morning in a beautiful wedding suite and being able to luxuriate in the house for another day with no stress or worry about having to pack up and leave, thus prolonging our “wedding bubble” for as long as possible!
And last but by no means least; what advice would you give to other wedding couples considering Abbots Court as their venue?
Absolutely do it! You will be so well looked after and we honestly have no regrets in choosing Abbots Court for our weekend. We have nothing but positive memories from our day as we were both able to completely relax and enjoy ourselves, safe in the knowledge that behind the scenes everyone was working hard for us and leaving no detail unattended.
